There are 3 basic levels to my Yoga classes depending on experience and ability
Beginners:
12 week programme teaching the groundwork to all other practices from postures, breathing, relaxation and simple meditation practices. Emphasis is on loosening- relaxing, de-stressing and de-toxing freeing the path to more challenging practices. You will also be introduced to some cleansing practices aiding the detoxing process that has been started.
Continuation:
Bringing the learned practices to a different level. You will be introduced to stronger postures and most likely to learn the Sun- Salutation a sequence comprising 12 postures. You will stay longer in the learned postures developing strenght and stamina. On this level you are also learning more specific breathing practices that are aimed at calming, stimulating or balancing the energies. Meditation becomes more of a regular practice at the end of the class.
Established:
Improoving all of the above learned and working more with inverted postures and Standing postures. The general pace slows down developing awareness and concentration as well as strength and stamina and will-power. Longer breathing and Meditation practices. There are no limits to it.
Gentle
Gentle Yoga Classes are suitable for all and also for students with some health difficulties. Even though the Asanas(Postures) are taught in a gentle way and with easier variations the students still get all the benefits form the postures. All other aspects of the yoga practice like Pranayama( Breathing Practice), Meditation and Yoga Nidra(Relaxation) are taught to the same level as the other classes.
Chair Yoga
Chair yoga is mostly practiced sitting on a chair or standing with the chair as support if needed. This class is particularly suitable to people with reduced mobility or who find it difficult to lie down on the floor. Like in all yoga classes the whole body is gently moved according to each student’s ability with the help of the breath. Regular practice improves movement range of all joints, strengthens the muscles and relaxes the mind enhancing a feeling of overall well-being. The Relaxation Practice at the end can be practiced lying down or sitting comfortable on the Chair.
