Nothing like practicing Yoga out in nature. It can add a whole new dimension to our practice and brings it closer to our daily life experiences. Our senses are naturally more open such as hearing/ smelling and seeing, keeping us closer in the present moment. It is only in the present moment that we are truly alive and engaged with our live.
We will practice postures, we will breathe deeply, we will move and shake the body and allow the body and mind to deeply relax into stillness with the earth underneath and the sky above.
All you need is your own mat and or blanket and few layers of clothing.

Finding Balance, tapping into Stillness

Finding the right balance in ones life requires us to constantly readjust and adapt to moment by moment changing circumstances.
Balance can be experienced as a state of ease, free of struggle accompanied by a sense of stillness and presence. These moments may be short but they can leave a very strong impression in our minds and feel enormously satisfying, alive and nourishing.
In one way or the other we all throughout our lives are searching for those moments of "ease" of presence and contentedness the "happy feeling".
In the class we will explore with the help of movement, breath, relaxation and mindfulness simple ways off experiencing how ease can be felt and recognized in our bodies at any given moment. We pause long enough to be able to tap in to still moments in our minds and hearts exploring first hand that those moments not necessarily depend on external "perfect" conditions.
This morning is for you to take time out, to restore and replenish and to be with yourself and to drop into this present moment breath by breath.
Class is suitable for all levels of experience and fitness.

This is our Spring Retreat and the day will focus on gently shifting our energy from winter to spring, aligning it with the awakening of nature all around us and Gorse Hill is an ideal location to connect with nature. This is the time to stretch ourselves, to shake out the cobwebs and to clear stagnant energy. Transition times are also great opportunities to reflect what has been, how we are now and what we need for the time to come and set the intentions that will help us on the way.
Interwoven in the day will also be some self compassion and self-care practices from the Mindfulness tradition.
In general this Day in Gorse Hill offers an opportunity for everyone to "Pause" to "Rest" and to "BE". Time to listen inwards and facilitate a deeper connection with ourselves. This will recharge our batteries and perhaps help us to re orientate our energies to those projects that are truly important to us and where we can be best of service to our family, friends and society.

Candlelight Yoga Class
Celebrating all the good things in our life

Sunday Yoga Class
Spring into Spring
Sunday 10th April 10.30am - 12.30pm
Class will be recorded so even if you can't attend live online you will be able to practice at the time that suits you.
This time of the year when everything awakens again we can actually feel a bit sluggish from winter stagnation that may express itself as tiredness, heaviness or a cloudy mind.
Traditionally, at this time of the year, our practice focuses on detoxing and stimulating the energy system readying ourselves for the burst of activity that will soon start. Literally allowing us to spring into spring.
We do have a Yoga Program that addresses all the main body systems, clearing and stimulating as well as harmonizing the flow of prana through them. Despite what it may sound the practices are quite gentle. The program includes postures, breathing practices, relaxation and visualization.
We will practice the program and I will send it to you as a Handout for your home practice over the next 4 weeks or so. I'm also recording the class and you can practice with that.

This morning class is dedicated to exploring the art of relaxation through gentle stretches and postures that are held for longer periods with supports and specific breathing techniques. This enables the body to let go of holding and tensing. The muscles and tendons are encouraged to relax into each stretch. Chronic tension in the body uses a lot of our vital energy which is often a cause for tiredness, stress and can even lead to exhaustion. This affects of course the whole of our being mentally, physically and emotionally, our zest for life. Regular short periods of rest and restoration can literally be a "life saver" but we forget or when we feel good think it's not necessary and it gets pushed to the margins of our to do list.

Just what we need these days were we can feel stuck and hemmed in by restrictions and fear. If we can let the body move with ease perhaps we can also allow our mind and heart to be free and go with the flow.

This Year we will come together for this special day in Gorse Hill. This is a perfect place for reflection with it's unique setting that offers spectacular views over the Gardens and Sea while making ourselves cozy in a candle lit room with a crackling stove.
Our last months have been tough on everyone and we were forced to focus on staying safe, to reduce contacts and in general to restrict our normal routines. It may have felt at times that all the good things we love and and perhaps took for granted were slowly being taken away from us. In these time it is very natural to forget what is still left and what we can celebrate and appreciate.
Our day will be a celebration on the good things in our life through enjoying our bodies moving, the breath flowing, the mind settling and the heart opening and expanding, tasting delicious food and enjoying the company of each other in this fabulous venue.
It is a day for you to nourish body/ soul and spirit and to have a "Breathing Space" amidst the busyness of this time of the year; connecting back to ourselves and to remind us of what is truly important.
As it is tradition at end of the day you are all invited to a candle lit gathering around a big spread of home baked (by me) German Christmas cookies, sipping hot German Yogic Gluhwein (alkohol free) while enjoying the after glow and resonance from the chanting and each others company.

In uncertain times it is very natural to experience all forms of uncertainty such as feeling adrift, worried, anxious, restless or overwhelmed. We can feel easily cut off from our selves and not knowing what we may need and or even want. The experience maybe likened to standing a long way away from ourselves. We all have been there and most of the time we find our way back to ourselves but in these unprecedented times that may prove to be very challenging as our "normal" is being further and further pushed out.
This Sunday, I would like to explore with you how we can find steadiness in unsteady times, how we can find balance in the middle of a storm and how we can we access an our own inner steady place that is independent from outer circumstances.

Mindfulness Meditation Day

Mindfulness is sometimes described as a way to befriend ourselves. It is a practice where we purposefully pay attention to what is here and now and cultivate kindness and understanding towards our own experiences whatever they are. We get to know ourselves better and can learn skillful ways of managing difficult and challenging situations as well as appreciate the joyful and pleasant experiences more fully. Our live can become richer as we are not trying so hard to avoid anything that we don't like, becoming to understand that every experience is part of our human condition and the essence of living.
A Mini Retreat allows us to take a 'Pause' from our busyness and to reconnect deeply to what is important to us.
Participants will have the opportunity to practice in Silence under guidance. Silence is an often overlooked virtue as we feel compelled to have to talk when around other people. This can be another way to be fully available for ourselves and to stay present with what arises moment by moment.

- Body Scan,
- Mindful Eating
Gorse Hill is a beautiful location just above the Bray Cliff Walk with fantastic views over the sea, a spacious garden and cozy warm room to practice in.
As usual everyone is welcome to join the day, no previous experience is necessary. This is also a great opportunity for those who do practice regularly and would like to have an extended time.

Candlelight Yoga and Relaxation Class

This a slow flowing, gentle and deeply relaxing class enhanced by the sound of music and being surrounded by the warmth glow of candlelight. The class finishes with Yoga Nidra (Relaxation) and or a Mindfulness Meditation guiding us to our inherent place of stillness and peace.
Early Sunday evening is a perfect time to rest after a busy week and before the next week to keep you at ease and well throughout the winter month.

Christmas Reflection
A Moment Of Peace
Gorse Hill - Greystones

This Year we will come together for this special morning in Gorse Hill. This is a perfect place for reflection with it's unique setting that offers spectacular views over the Gardens and Sea while making ourselves cozy in a candle lit room with a crackling stove.
The Morning Practices will be a combination of gentle yoga postures/ breathing practices as well as mindful reflections and meditations.
It is a class for you to nourish body/ soul and spirit and to have a "Breathing Space" amidst the busyness of this time of the year; connecting back to ourselves and to remind us of what is truly important.
As it is tradition after the Class you are all invited to a candle lit gathering around a big spread of home baked (by me) German Christmas cookies, sipping hot German Yogic Gluhwein (alkohol free) while enjoying the after glow and resonance from the chanting and each others company.
This class is suitable for all levels of experience and everybody is very welcome.

Year End Reflection and Relaxation Class

It will be a reflective gentle yoga class with music and plenty of time to unwind, rest and restore. The class will finish with a meditation practice.

Sunday Yoga Morning
Relieving Neck and Shoulder Tension

Enjoy a morning of Yoga and Meditation. The focus will be on practices that especially help to relieve tension around the shoulder, neck and chest regions. We will move the body through specific stretches and poses as well as releasing blocked energy by stimulating the associated acupressure points. This class will be deeply satisfying and relaxing.
This morning is for you to take time out, to restore and replenish and to be with yourself and to drop into this present moment breath by breath.
Class is suitable for all levels of experience and fitness.

What better way then to inject your summer experience with 3 days of Yoga and Mindfulness in a row? Create a perfect start to your day with an uplifting and inspiring class in the morning. This will set the right mood and vibrations for the rest of your day. On the other hand finishing your day regularly with a nourishing and restful class will help you to let go of your day whatever may have been, calming the mind and inducing a sense of inner peace.
Practicing on 3 consecutive days presents the opportunity to start a daily routine. You will be able to experience first hand how a regular practice; even a very short one; can make all the difference about how we manage daily challenges, difficulties, problems etc.. It helps to prevent the build up of tension in body and mind which is the best stress prevention, essential for the ability to deeply nourish your health and well-being.
The general theme of the 3 days is about exploring the meaning of well-being and what that may feel like. WE look into how how we can integrate some simple but effective practices into our daily life so we can be more present for ourselves as well as others.
Daily classes include Asanas (Postures), Pranayama (Breathing Practices); Yoga Nidra (a guided Relaxation) and Meditation Practice as well as mental reminders for your day to stay present.
